Installing takes a couple of minutes on every platform. Three things account for almost all failures: picking the wrong CPU architecture, giving up at the system security prompt, and mistaking constant buffering for a broken install. Handle those and the rest is routine.

Confirm the device first

• Windows: Settings → System → About, check whether the system type is 64-bit or ARM.
• macOS: Apple menu → About This Mac, note whether the chip is Apple silicon or Intel.
• Android: anything below 8.0 will likely crash on launch.
• iOS: Settings → General → About; update first if you are below iOS 14.

Sizes and minimum requirements for each build are listed on the download page, which is worth keeping open while you work through this.

Windows: expect a prompt

A blue SmartScreen dialog is normal for installers that have not accumulated much download reputation. Choose "More info", then "Run anyway". Avoid installing into the root of the system drive, and move the cache and download folders to a data drive later — storage grows faster than people expect.

One desktop-only feature worth enabling: exclusive audio output. With an external DAC it bypasses the system mixer, which is audible on high-bitrate files. Over Bluetooth speakers it makes no practical difference.

macOS: approve once

Drag the app into Applications, launch it, and when the verification warning appears open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click "Open anyway". It will not ask again. Apple silicon Macs do not need a separate ARM build; the universal package picks the right architecture on its own.

Android: turn the permission back off

Sideloading requires allowing unknown app installs for whichever app started the install — usually the browser or file manager. Switch it back off once you are done. On managed devices or work profiles this toggle may be locked by policy and an administrator has to release it.

iOS: use the App Store

Install from the App Store. Whether the listing is visible depends on the store region of your Apple account, which is a separate matter from your network. After installing, allow network access on first playback and make sure battery optimisation is not restricting background audio.

Three settings to adjust after the first login

1. Streaming tier: high on Wi-Fi, one step lower on mobile data. Lossless can pull over 400 MB per hour.
2. Cache limit: 1–2 GB on phones. Once full, the oldest entries are dropped automatically.
3. Download folder: on desktop, move it off the system drive. Offline tracks take far more space than cache.

If it plays nothing, do not reinstall yet

If the interface opens and you can sign in, the install succeeded. Work through the playback path instead: try a different track, drop one quality tier, then switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Summary

Most of the effort belongs up front: right architecture, supported OS version. Two minutes spent on quality and cache settings afterwards prevents the majority of later complaints about data usage and storage. Version details are on the download page.
